Dear Yipes! Family,

Today, I want to take you on a personal journey, a journey inspired by love, filled with cherished memories that have shaped who I am and guided me to create Yipes!, a brand dedicated to bringing messy joy to our little ones.

The story begins in the early years of my childhood, when dreams were powerful and the world felt magical. The aroma of something extraordinary would weave its way through the corridors of my grandparents’ home, beckoning me to venture downstairs. The tantalizing scent would dance playfully up the winding staircase, pulling me closer to the heart of their kitchen.

As a wide-eyed 5-year-old, I embarked on a summer tradition, spending precious time with my beloved grandparents. The love etched upon my grandmother’s face as she called my name, her apron infused with the comforting scent of clean soap, welcomed me into her arms. In her tender embrace, I felt special, cocooned in her love.

Together, we embarked on a daily adventure through her bountiful garden. The vibrant tapestry of herbs and vegetables whispered their secrets, and my grandmother would proudly introduce me to each one. We’d pick the day’s ingredients, savoring their fragrant essence before placing them gently in the basket she held so fondly.

With our basket brimming with nature’s gifts, my grandmother would say those magical words, “Now we are ready to cook!” In her kitchen, she stood by my side- and I stood on a chair. I joyfully stirred the simmering pot, the journey from harvest to meal filling me with delight.

Years passed, and I became a mother myself, eager to bestow upon my son the same gift of love and cherished memories. Most mornings, the aroma of a fresh pot of soup would weave its way through our home, ascending the stairs to awaken his senses. I would softly wake him, whispering, “What would you like for breakfast?”

His eyes would sparkle, and without hesitation, he would exclaim, “Soup, Mom! Soup!”

Placing a chair before the stove, I guided him, his small hands gripping the stirring spoon as he discovered the magic of creating what he had grown accustomed to smelling most mornings. Together, we embraced the journey of making a grocery list, selecting ingredients, preparing our meals, and making lots of messes to clean up. I yearned for him to find joy and fulfillment in these simple tasks we did together, nurturing his independence as I had experienced at his age.

It is the essence of these timeless memories, etched deep within my soul, that led me to embark on a mission close to my heart many years later. Yipes! was born out of a profound love for what surrounds us, an unwavering passion for art and science, and an unyielding appreciation for the gift of family.

As parents, we strive to provide our children with the very best, weaving memories that will forever be etched in their hearts. Whether it’s the simplest of pleasures or the most intricate of experiences, we actively participate in crafting these precious moments, knowing that one day, when our children have grown, these memories will become the cherished treasures we hold dear.
